地狱圣女阿修罗有控制魔界所有妖魔的能力，逢她出现的地方，妖魔鬼怪皆会被她唤醒，但虽然阿修罗在地底已住了六百六十年，却拥有一颗赤子之心，甚至想脱离魔道，往见慈空大师，大师认为她应该永远被收进佛像内，永离人间。阿修罗承诺不再作魔法，但希望能留在可望见太阳的地方，大师弟子孔雀和吉祥果亦一起恳求，大师终于答应让阿修罗在人间留七天，之后要立刻进入佛像。阿修罗欣喜非常，以为能在太阳底下过七天人类的生活，但期间却受尽妖魔的骚扰，到了第七天，阿修罗联同也孔雀及吉祥果，一起到阴间把妖魔消灭，此举感动了神灵，让阿修罗得以超越至第八天，变成真正的人类。

神魔之争绵延千年，地狱圣女阿修罗被卷入两界相争，但她因爱上了明媚快乐的人界，便恳请慈空大师给予她滞留人间的机会。慈空大师慈悲为怀，遂派出徒弟吉祥果和孔雀在一周时间内护卫阿修罗，直到她重返魔界。阿修罗与两名“保镖”找到了自己在魔界的爱宠兼伙伴戏鬼，但此时，魔界中的鬼妃为了吸取阿修罗的真气取而代之其在魔界的位置，令座下鬼众袭击阿修罗，戏鬼惨遭石化，而孔雀为了搭救戏鬼也被冰冻。随着时间的推移，他们暂住于发明家家中，此时距离阿修罗必须返回魔界的期限越来越近，而鬼妃仍不放弃取代阿修罗的计划……
